Is it possible to kill all bed bugs by hand?

I've been seeing at least three of them a day for a couple weeks now. Every time I killed them. I've been too embarrassed and scared to tell my folks after such a long time of having them. I just put my pillowcases, blankets, and sheets in garbage bags, tied them up, and now they're waiting to be washed. Since then I haven't seen or felt one in my bed. Which is odd. I've shined a flash light all over. Raised my mattress. There's no way for them to hide IN my mattress without any openings. I don't see any under the bed or on the floor. Is it possible I got rid of the only living ones by killing them by hand or taking the blankets off?

Bed bugs that you smoosh by hand will be up and walking within a week. They can live for upwards of 6 months without blood. The only way to kill them is with extreme heat.

@boklenholley7 The bedbugs I smooshed aren't even bugs anymore xD i don't see how they'd be up and walking at all if most of their essence ended up stained to my fingertips and then later washed off.
