Would you go out with someone who keeps pursuing you?

There's this man who's got a good 10 years on me. He keeps showing up to the bar I frequent, keeps trying to shower me with free drinks and keeps trying to pick me up. He has said things like I want to protect and hold you. I'm on the fence about this guy.
