Never even a fool's hope can pull someone out of hell. loss of all hope is dangerous

reflectingmonkey · 51-55, M
yes, in certain circumstances hope is horrible. like hoping for something you know will never happen. I'm not a big fan of hope, either I can make it happen or I don't think about it. I never buy lottery tickets or gamble, I don't hold my hands together and hope luck will come my way, if I want something I go get it, if its out of reach I move to something else.

@Serenitree being focused improves the probability of a good outcome and yes, I guess there is some hope involved I just don't like the idea of the outcome of my life depending on some passive wishing.

@reflectingmonkey Neither do I. I stopped with the passive wishing when I discovered Santa was a fantasy. I work for what I want. But, I never want to lose hope again. It made me suicidal. I felt that everything I might do, wouldn't make anything better. I need hope.

@Serenitree I see what you're saying, in that sense I agree, I just prefer to call it believing in my ability to make things happen. I guess I'm also a bit frustrated at the word hope because the one thing i cannot control, finding true love, has not happened.

I think the danger lies in losing it.

Hope is lovely thing...it is the dashing of the hopes that hurts.
PastelHearts1412 · 22-25, F
Sometimes it can be, but other times it causes us to make decisions that produce wonderful results. Hope is both a good and bad thing simultaneously.

The word Hope is the love that leads to faith and is an action word that we can not let go of it brings rewards and gets the job done.

Hope accomplishes nothing. It's the lazy alternative to being proactive and accomplishing what you need to do.

If it's misguided or misplaced, I guess.

I think being hopeless is much more so!
