Pretending to be OK, well for the most part I've stopped anyway
ZenKitzune · F
@AlphaPuppy Hopefully accepting it will make it easier to work through the reasons why you're not ok.
AlphaPuppy · 26-30, M
@ZenKitzune that's the theory, but in reality it just means you lose friends and nobody wants to talk to you anymore because you're bringing them down by not pretending everything is just fine
ZenKitzune · F
@AlphaPuppy Those people aren't friends you need. If they don't like you when you are you then they were never your friends to begin with. You do what you need to do, find yourself and figure out what you need and want. Screw anyone who doesn't like it, you will find the people who do. 🤗

@ZenKitzune thank you, it's a struggle but I just have to take things day by day and hope I'm heading in the general direction of recovery
ZenKitzune · F
@AlphaPuppy If you want it then it's yours, it's all about thoughts and what you tell yourself. I made a post earlier about this stuff, maybe you'd find it helpful.

@ZenKitzune I'll take a look but unfortunately positive thinking and cognitive behavioural therapy don't work for me, one of the joys of having an asd on top of the depression and other things
ZenKitzune · F
@AlphaPuppy I had depression, ptsd and anxiety disorder. The point is believing that there is the possibility of change. I never thought I'd feel any different than I did but here I am.

@ZenKitzune autistic spectrum disorders are a little different unfortunately, they are classed as a disability rather than an illness because they are unlikely to ever improve
ZenKitzune · F
@AlphaPuppy I've read things lately about it being an immune system disorder rather than psychological as they previously thought. I heard about a guy who was treating kids with certain antibiotics and getting good results. I'm pretty sure they just don't understand the causes completely. There's hope in that I think.
AlphaPuppy · 26-30, M
@ZenKitzune as someone with it I'm highly sceptical about that, and almost certain it doesn't apply to me even if it might cause something that presents in a similar way to an asd, and those specialists who I see have similar opinions
ZenKitzune · F
@AlphaPuppy be open to possibilities, things change all the time. I've met a lot of doctors in my time and it wasn't them who helped me in the end. Modern medicine only goes so far I'm afraid.
Lonesomewolf2018 · 26-30, M
@ZenKitzune What about both modern medicine and a Psychological doctor.
ZenKitzune · F
@Lonesomewolf2018 For me personally, I can't say that it helped. I spent years wasting my time on it and don't regret looking for alternatives for one second.
