Would you apologise to passengers if you farted

While travelling on public transport? I argued with a guy on a bus last night. He let one go, and stunk out the entire top deck of a bus, I opened a window, and he closed it again saying he was 'too cold' I pointed out I only opened it because he was stinking. He wouldn't respond after that

@bijou, he was well aware of why I opened it, but obviously felt his comfort was more important than the discomfort he caused others. People were just shaking their heads, or saying 'for God's sake' etc

I don't think he really could respond after that. I'm surprised he was clueless about why you had to open the window in the first place.
