What is more important, a relationship where u feel like u can't live without your partner, or a relationship where both of your lives are improved

by each other's presence?

The first one is co-dependency and I am scared of such relations.
I'd much rather have mutual life improvement.

me too. I don't think that's what I have now though. My gf is rather dysfunctional and isn`t interested in life improvement. But she does love me.

@plungesponge If you also love her, then that's all good, right? Dysfunctional is okay, as long as you're willing to love her regardless.

the first doesn't sound like a healthy relationship. The second option seems much more well-adjusted and beneficial

To be the one that makes one self happy, then you won't put pressure on a mate to have you be happy WHY ? They can't have you be happy, that is your own job for you. The empty needy ones, are the ones that drain love out, avoid the needy ones...

Then each will trigger old hurts, we push insecure buttons in long-term, this happens, just don't make your mate WRONG to trigger you, they will that is life.

Live in balance, then you won't topple over.

The second, the fist is just an egoic thing
plungesponge · 41-45, M
yeah... I think mine might be the first kind

@plungesponge It's normal to feel that way for a while, but if it carries on due to an imbalance then it can get pretty unhealthy.
The latter, by far.

Any relationship is better than no relationship
plungesponge · 41-45, M
I dunno. I've seen some pretty toxic ones
SW-User
how about none. That works doesn't it?
woundedeer · 26-30, M
Improvement is always better.
Both are kinda the same
