How come peanut allergies have become so prevalent?

Is this really something serious or is it people going overboard with the safety precautions..

It's more likely the kids don't like them and their knee jerk mothers scream peanut allergy.

@Jibby Sorry about that if they went overboard. Back when I was growing up we got spanked a lot. Its just how things were.

@katielass oh it didn't bother me that much. I think Italians expect to be thick-headed and therefore catch a good beating every now and then

As time goes by, more and more illnesses, are found to be related to allergies.
Some scientists say it's because our immune systems are not very often challenged and with nothing to do start turning on food elements
