actually - a very valid question. Seems we've become a country where opinions are no longer something to just be politely discussed and shared - they've become 'fighting words' quite literally - whatever happened to 'civil discourse'???? I'm afraid to carry on a conversation any more about even a slightly controversial subject for fear that someone will take great offense at my opinion and come after me with a gun or something - really scary.

@billytex1 Oh, thank you...I don't know what happened to civil discourse, but I believe the mass shootings and every other sickness in our country can be traced to its death, and I would like to dig it up and see if it can be revived.

@Mamapolo2016 Just from what I see here - I think there are a lot of people that are as concerned as we are about the seemingly lost art of conversation around a controversial subject - where this came from, i do not know - but I wish it would go back so we can have back polite and civil - even if animated - conversation that doesn't lead to violence or anger.
Just because one person believes or thinks something different than another person does, does not make them bad or wrong or evil - it just means they see the situation from a different point of view - that's all.
Why can't we see that any more? People are so much more than just their opinions and how they think about one subject or another -
