Why are people subscribing to become VIP?

They hope to keep the site active and improving. The ads alone won'the be enough to keep it free.

because it is pretty cheap, and has a few features that people like.

some do it to support the site, the other things you get are just a little extra but they really do it because they like the site

I guess to avoid commercial publicity when it eventually will become part of the site.And also you can see whom hearts what.
