I’m annoyed by those that choose to use no tact in unimportant situations because being brutal means more to them than being considerate. I used to be that person.

@Mrsbetweenfatandfit well said being brutally honest is not always necessary or the right thing to be do.

The thing about brutal "honesty", is that often it's less about honesty and more about being a jerk. Maybe they're saying what they think, but they aren't thinking very hard.

depends, if it's something i've already internalized then it's not so bad. but if it conflicts with what i believe myself to be obviously it offends me.

@SW-User That's some good self awareness

I can live without it. Already had enough to last a lifetime.

Sometimes you have to tell someone something they don't want to hear. Sometimes you are on the receiving end of that. I don't think either has to be brutal. If they won't receive it kindly, they won't receive it at all.
Before you speak, ask yourself these 3 questions. Is it true, is it necessary, is it kind? Silence is golden

I’m more offended by white lies and tip toeying or sugarcoating. Brutal honesty needs to be heard but in a constructive manner as brutal honesty is meant for humans to learn and grow. I take every brutally honest opinion as a learning kerb.
No? 😞

As long as you already know the truth, deep down, then it doesn't hurt as much.

No I prefer it, and I am that way myself

Honesty is a good thing I think, brutality is not.

Yes. Brutality isn't necessary and I always suspect the motives of those who employ it in the name of "honesty".
Nope, I further escalate it.
MasterofNone · 26-30, M
No but I get angry at the insincerity.
Yes but I prefer it.
