A fear of rejection, or a fear of coming off as creepy or overly obsessed.

Guys are much more emotional than they would like to admit ,my best guess, he fears rejection or embarrassment

That's like texting your boss when you're sick!

Though counter-intuitive, I am less shy around women that don't attract me, as opposed to those who do. Weird.
