People ruin religions, religion does not ruin people.

@SW-User Surely religions ARE people?

SW-User
Are you referring to brainwashing? @Quizzical
Quizzical · 46-50, M
@SW-User No. I am referring to the fact that you cannot have gods without people, people create gods to explain the world around them. Over time those people create rituals etc, which then become formalised into dogma, which leads to an organised religion where (so to speak) everyone is singing from the same hymn book.
Of course, over time a certain amount of indoctrination (or brainwashing if you prefer) becomes inevitable. "Think as we do or be punished for not doing so!"

have you ever felt like you’ve opened a history book looked at pages of words and not read a thing..... then other books that have been opened consist of pages of words you remember and you actually become educated by.... funny that isn’t it? Lol @Quizzical

@SW-User I've not experienced that tbh... I seem to have a preternatural ability to absorb what I read. I'm a demon at trivia games, lol.
Sorry for lacking a frame of reference there 😕

@SW-User Well, it's the best way to learn in my opinion. Read as much and as many diverse books as possible. It worries me that so many people think that all the world's answers are just contained in the one book...

SW-User
I certainly don’t think the worlds answers are contained in one book, some books are the truth and some
aren’t each person fathoms the writing differently..... there are still book written as we speak that are full of BS and Truth, the next generation will be reading them too. And like you and I they will see things differently even if the same book is read.🤯😳😯@Quizzical

@SW-User I wasn't suggested that you in particular did... But there are some out there (and on this site) who seem to think that IS the case, lol.

SW-User
