Is it weird that I do not want to work in the field I studied in college. Its just sooo tedious.

It's fairly common. Interests change, people pick majors that don't fit them, the reality of the job doesn't quite fit what was imagined, etc.

Not weird, very natural and common. People learn and learning changes your ideas about what you like and want.

@dark548 About everything about design is tedious. Brainstorming, drawing sketches, drawing roughs, proofing and editing, kerning and leading. I find it all really stressful. The end result is always nice, but the time it takes... I almost don't find worth it.

@Aidan Just like animation business. I wanted to study it until I've seen how much preparation it requires before you get to the fun part. (I hate storyboards. I really do.)

One thing that I've learned from graphic design students is that you have to know really A LOT about typography. Design looks very restricting in general but unlike fine arts, you can actually get employed. 😜
