Why must people be so harsh on this generation?

I am 2 generations before you and I have NEVBER seen a more disrespectful generation than yours...rude, foul mouthed, know it all's...don't you dare blame us for your issues...we were brought up to respect people.. especially the ones who came before us...we didn't spend every waking moment looking at a screen...we weren't all suicidal at your age because life was difficult sometimes...we learned to be tough and cope. This might not describe you personally but that is basically my ongoing experience with 18-21 year olds here

@Fernie It may came out that way but I'm not blaming your generation. However, I do wonder, why is this generation like this, then? Is it like this because people are what they are without influences from the past what so ever? Still, I am not implying that it is anyone's fault, because obviously it's not.

@Fernie You said it all "we were brought up to respect people". They weren't, apparently (although we must not generalize, my daughter is awesome and I'm very proud of her...).
So, is it their fault, that they (or some of them) turned out like that? Or is it their parents' fault? (or maybe their grandparents fault, because their parents were too busy working to do parenting, and they were raised by their grandparents...?)

@PhantasmaMechanica personally, I blame a lot of it on technology...your generation has been consumed with it/by it. It's kept a lot of you isolated socially speaking, many many have lousy coping skills because of that...there ARE reasons and I try to remember that but the fact is you will be running things one day and that scares the hell out of me....you were force fed sex and violence in movies and on tv until human life has very little meaning...people become desensitized to it all.Again, don't blame the people who came before you...you could learn some very wonderful things from us but many of you think we are all stupid, old and in the way. The guy who commented ...below me...Arizonaice is a prime example of the mentality I am speaking of. I do NOT mean you specifically...so far you have not behaved that way

@drymer I actually DON'T blame them ...BUT.. it does not excuse them or their disrespectful attitudes...it's about growing up and out of that behavior but so many of them refuse to listen to anyone because they think they know everything at 18-21.We all had some of that at that age but nothing like this. I have also met some very respectful kids...they are like that because they were brought up by parents who were mindful of all of this...as your daughter was.

@Fernie Your opinions, like any others, are valuable whether I agree with it or not. You are certainly proud of your generation. Anyhow, I think that all generations have their own faults as well as their own strenght. Hopefully, one day you will meet the better part of this generation that appreciates you, and that you will get to learn something new from them as well.
