How do you help someone you care about who is in their own Hell?

I mean Hell as a state of mind. Where they hate themselves, their life, and still being here. Suffering misery only they can understand.

A change of scenery, experiencing new things, eating healthy, exercise, and some sort of creative outlet would all help. Start small and work your way up. Like going to a different grocery store, trying new food monthy, or just scribbling on notebook pages til their blacked out.

Personal hells usually come from some sort of depressive rut. By breaking up and shaking up their vicious cycle things will slowly start to improve.

Oh also, always remove toxic people in their life. If they are surrounded by other people trapped in their own hell, they are only making theirs worse.

You just be there as much as you can. There will really not be much point to making them see sense, because its just a different kind of hopelessness they feel. It can be very draining though to be around such people, but if you care enough, just be there and let them know you're around.
