What do you think of

Dissociative identity disorder? do you think it's made up by psychiatrists? is it over rated?
Has it helped many psychopaths get away with murder?

It makes a lot of sense to me as why it happens. It use to be called "multiple personality" when the book "Sybil" came out.

@SomeLikeItHot It became a sensational thrill after that and so many popular motion pictures have been made but personally I think the whole disorder is fake
@calmingeffect I know it is listed in the DSM 5 but it would be difficult to be diagnosed that way incorrectly.
I think triggers are suppose to cause certain segmented personalities to react.
I think I have witnessed it with my Dad before during a phone conversation when he had two personalities interact with me during the discussion. He even argued with himself as we spoke.

@SomeLikeItHot Sorry about your dad. Although I think psychiatrists encourage patients by allowing the patient to run wild with fantasies with their alter egos giving them names, gender, personality traits etc...
@calmingeffect I could see that happening with some playing games with their doctors. Anyone that truly has that condition does not have the ability to make personalities appear and disappear under their control. The personalities are triggered by events outside of that person's control imo
