was watching youtube about lottery winners and the guy says so'n'so won 17 million dollars which is 25 million by todays standards but no its not 17

million is still 17 million but things are more expensive than in earlier years

When they say that what they mean is to buy all the things that 17 million would by back then would cost 25 million today... because back then things were cheaper to buy... but it a mute point anyway as you've pointed out already
