How many kids do you plan on having?

I don't understand the people that don't want to have any, because first of all as much as they are a pain, they are what completes your lives, also they are entertainment to some degree. Moreover with the rate of divorces on the rise, imagine you get divorced at 40, what do you do then? you'll practically have nobody in your life to give you unconditional love. Your parents have their own lives and your friends, they're fine for going out like twice a week, but they will have their own families to go back home.
So think about that.
DragonFruit · 61-69, M
I am 62 and have no children. My life is not incomplete.
My parents are both deceased, and I did not get divorced at 40 (or at 60 for that matter). I have a lovely wife, 7 siblings, 20 nieces and nephews and a few great nieces and nephews. I have some good friends. I have dogs that give me unconditional love.
I am more fortunate and have a better life than some people who have children.
You will learn that it is not only children that make one’s life worth living....so think about that. 😊
Dan193 · 31-35, M
@DragonFruit what makes life worth living? please share
While they may complete some people’s lives that doesn’t mean they’ll complete others 😐. I rather someone not want kids and don’t have them and regret it later and start to take that out on the children not everyone needs to be a parent.

1 child is good for me.
@Mrsbetweenfatandfit 😊😂 girl you live in mine too as well as OUTSIDE of it. You’re so wise it mind blowing, I’ve learned a lot from you actually.
Dan193 · 31-35, M
@Stark Gotcha, well best wishes then.

alright after reading all this there I gotta repsond.
What would you do without kids?
What you do now without kids!
You spend time with your friends yeah not every week.
You spend time on your own ( many enjoy that ) a little with parents, siblings etc then you got this big chunk of time to spend with that person you wanted to spend so much time with in the first place. They are your best friend and now you get them all the time. All that money saved from having to feed, cloth, care for kids. You spend it on experiences not stuff. Travel and memories. There is so much to see and do. Not having any kids is not for everyone and many have had their lives enriched with children. Kids rock. But those without will have lots to do and have happy lives too. Having and not having neither is a winner. No one is in competition with each others choices in life. We can be different and be happy and respect another's choice instead of telling them they are wrong for not doing what we might do. That'd be just dumb. The number is possibly none maybe one.

@Dan193 You find it hard to imagine those that regret the kid after, the kid would suffer?
@Dan193 I’m an only child and I was never lonely growing up. 🤔 where are you getting your research from? And actually men can make healthy children to a pretty decent age and women can have them in a mature age as well usually a great age range where they have a stabled income and better home environment than younger. It doesn’t make sense to rush and have them simply because you’re in fear you won’t be able to when you get older ? Plenty of mature in age people have children. If you don’t want any children at the moment and want some later that’s perfectly fine.
Dan193 · 31-35, M
@Stark Just my cousins and friends that were an only child told me that they would have rather had a brother or a sister growing up, plus it was much fun for me, I imagine, having my sister. About conceiving at an older age, that's actually a medical fact that children are more prone to birth diseases the older the parents are.

zero. im not bringing a kid into this shithole. ide rather adopt and take care of a kid down on his luck.
Dan193 · 31-35, M
@SW-User I see, well adopting that's pretty honorable of u
IBHappy · F
Some of us can't have kids and that is ok.
DragonFruit · 61-69, M
@IBHappy Exactly....we never set out with the intent not to have children, but it didn’t happen and we’re OK with that as well.
Dan193 · 31-35, M
@IBHappy @DragonFruit I'm so sorry. I'm sorry I didn't think of it.
None. I've never had an interest in having children.

I don't think people should have children to "complete" their lives or to have someone to keep them company or care for them in their old age.
I think the choice to have children should be a selfless one.
@AmbivalentFriability I agree completely.
Dan193 · 31-35, M
@AmbivalentFriability can you think of any reason why would somebody want a child?
Bean17 · 46-50, F
I have 2 kids and as a parent I can definitely understand those who don’t want to/choose to have any!😅
You don´t have to understand other people. It´s their business. It´s their life.

Try to focus on what you want and go from there.
Dan193 · 31-35, M
@Underconstruction well it was just my point of view, but gotcha
@Dan193 Good
So people should have kids in case they get divorced? That's what you get a dog for.
I'll not be having any kids, and nobody will convince me to change my mind.
