Kids having secrets from their parents. What do u think about it?

I think every kid will have secrets from their parents. They are growing and the kids are learning how to handle things. Somethings they have to think about. That is part of learning how to be independent. You can have an open and honest relationship with your kids and that is great but at the same time you have to show them that you trust them to come to you if and when they need. That gives them confidence. But if mommy and daddy are always there to pick up the pieces or hear their secrets, the could become enmeshed with the parent and that is so unhealthy.

Basically there is a fine balance and you have to figure out what that is for you and child.
