Is reading overrated? And why people use it as a tool to shame others?

There is something to be said about educating yourself.

Even if what u r reading isn't really educational... Reading creates a connection and understand that no other form can recreate. There is something unique about actually experiencing a book.. the ability to remove yourself from your own mind and find the authors mind.

@DontMindMe yeah, I don't feel it
DontMindMe · 31-35, M
Well hopefully someday u do
Dan193 · 31-35, M
@DontMindMe Yes, maybe one day,
Reading is far from overrated.. We need it to get through this life. And to gain knowledge. Reading is also a great escape.. Do you mean being shamed for not being able to read?

@SW-User Did I misspell anything? o.O Usually I check for those, unless they are real obvious mistypes like "friwnd or yhat" and it's too of a drag to go over everything, if the message is there.

You'd never ask that question if you'd ever read a book you really liked a lot. No one should be shaming anyone over reading. But please keep trying until you find a book you get a lot out of; it can change your life for the better. Reading is one of the best yet cheapest forms of entertainment.

Wait what!?! Reading a good book is one of the greatness thing you can do, there is nothing better then getting lost in a good book and getting taken to another world.

Anything can be used to shame someone, you need to just need to own it! Plus am sure that everyone in world likes to read a good book when they are in mood. Just remember it's not your fault if some people can't read ;)

@Curiousguy833 yeah, thanks

How's it used to shame others?!

@Dan193 Sometimes the opinions are baseless attacks and/or racist, ignorant of history: shameful
Dan193 · 31-35, M
@SW-User What Im trying to say is: how does it make u any better by reacting to it using your shaming remarks?
SW-User
@Dan193 Maybe the comments are so awful that's what's left
SW-User
What are we talking about.. bible reading?
Dan193 · 31-35, M

Reading is NOT overrated. Personally, I wouldn't shame people who don't read, but I would 1) have no respect for their opinions and 2) would never be close friends with them.
Dan193 · 31-35, M
@SW-User right..
