Would it be awkward if I was in college at 29 surrounded by 18 year olds?

I feel like I'd be the noticeably older guy in a class
BDPP00 · 51-55, M
Nope. I went back and got my degree at 38. Besides, when you graduate, you'll appreciate it more.
Not if you look young. I'm almost 29 and I look younger than 18...
KyleTron5000 · 36-40, M
@Selfexpression I kind of do but you can definitely tell I'm on the older side

nah there's loads of people older than 18 in college
trackboy · 22-25, M
mostly community colleges that have a lot of older students as is hard to move off to a university with house and family that cant be moved. and usually just taking a few classes for the job they are in rather then for a degree. if they are retraining its either a one year diploma or two year associate degree.

nope.. i go too school with a class full of 14-17 year olds & im 24, theirs others older in other classes.. nothing wrong with that, going there toomake some for yourself

It shouldn't be awkward. A lot of people take courses at college/university as working adults to better their credentials and/or career prospects.
trackboy · 22-25, M
if you keep yourself in shape lift weights they would not notice the difference as the 20s is the ageless decade. your looks change very little during that time.

when i went to college there was some people older than 29 in some of the classes.. in my anatomy class there had to be several women in their 40's trying to be nurses.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
It's a little awkward but honestly lots of people go to college when they're older, I don't think you should worry much.

I'm 31 and back in school. It's not that bad and no one cares. Everyone has better things to focus on than the age of a classmate.

There are a lot of adults in their 30s and older in college. Many more than you expect.
