I've read that Canada ranks much higher on the global peace index than the USA. Beyond this, I have little sound data to say one way or another, and anecdotal or experience-based evidence is utterly worthless in this type of situation, mostly given the vast plethora of experiences and lifestyles possible for citizens of either country.
