Have you come across an interesting observation today?

I am my elderly mother's caregiver. Being disabled, she doesn't get up to a lot, besides watching tv, so she talks to me about things she watched.

I'm making us lunch and she says, "On one channel, they are asking for 12 dollars a month to help children. On another, they are asking for 17 dollars a month to help animals. People in this country care more about their pets than they do people.

people tend to care more about things that are rare or unusual, and most animal species are much rarer than humans, plus other species don't argue about politics or religion

@lorne13 lol animals are easier to love, no doubt. Their innocence makes them like children in a way
