Antifa is short for anti-fascist, it's an umbrella term for different anti-fascist/anti-racist groups, usually based around college campuses. They tend to do counter-protests to white supremacist rallies and stuff like that. The idea is to shut down white supremacy, fascism, Nazism, and stuff like that.
They're subject to pretty fierce criticism for being
confrontational and getting into street brawls during the counter-protests, taking the 'Punch a Nazi' literally.
That said a lot of their critics go to ludicrous extremes and accuse them of insane stuff or try to create some strange equivalency to say they're as bad at the Nazis. Spoiler - they're not. I'm firmly on their side, even if I disagree about tactics.

A group who act more fascist than the groups they go up against. A group who punch people in the streets who set fires and cause a big uproar even going as far to track down where people live and assault them

@BinkyTinkles and you are right about one thing. Antifa is a freedom fighting group... They fight against freedom.
