I'd like to start seriously preparing to move to a safer, more stable country.

Staying alive.

HBS: Fantastic country, and I like the Cairngorms very much. Last time I was up there walking in winter, everyone in a car kept stopping to offer me a lift.

That my country does not fall apart and our people start being a little kinder and more loving.

To end the year with the lives of the people I care about better than I found them last year.

LilnoNamed, that's not the right attitude! you have to hold onto hope, you never no what the future may bring. :)

HBS: UK isn't dreadful, no, but it's on a downward trajectory. I'd like to live in an independent Scotland because I love the country and the people, but aside from that, Ireland, New Zealand, Canada, Sweden, or somewhere very remote like South Georgia, Jan Mayen, or Kotelny Island.
