Why are the British so intrigued by the US??

BBC alone showcases programes relating to Trump, Alaska, OJ Simpson, gun crime in America etc. Channel 4 and ITV plays loads of American sitcoms.
For a country seeped in history and culture I would think you would find other avenues for entertainment?? 🤔

The BBC have programmes on many places, not just the US, and on many other subjects

@SW-User I am looking at their lineup now and do not see interest in other countries.

@SW-User If you could recommend a program (playing now) on the BBC that is relating to another country, I would greatly appreciate it 🙂 I really do love learning about other cultures.

@squidgy OK, but can't do it right now. With iPlayer you can see programmes already shown.

@SW-User IPlayer is ace! It's all I watch ☺ I cannot stand watching American television. The laugh tracks 😒
