On a site like this, isn't it kinda suspicious when a person wants to know your name right from the start?

AnukBinary · M
Jus tell them your name is Kyle

No, but perhaps foolish if you tell it..

@SW-User Your Irish? That means you have that cool/sexy accent!😊 sorry don't mean to pester!
I kinda thought it was weird that the Nigerian prince on this site wanted my bank account number and SSN. I felt really weird giving it to him both times.
It is pretty exciting though! 👍@NigelDoes

It's all gonna work out for you bro. An acquaintance of my cousins friends bosses son's nephew's friend is supposedly a multimillionaire now simply for responding to an email from that very same Nigerian Prince.
@NigelDoes so exciting! He must have multiple inheritances!

Your name, where you live, what do you do, etc....ugh...I don't think they are important. These things don't define you here. You are but a soul wanting to mingle anonymously.
Motleycrue667 · 46-50, F
Exactly!

I've been judged HARSHLY on here, for not revealing my true identity. I've been dropped like a hot potato. You name it....I wonder, if they come to know the real me...how would they take it.
NigelDoes · 56-60, M
I don't think so. I have no problem giving out my first name.
NigelDoes · 56-60, M
Exactly. 😂
Motleycrue667 · 46-50, F
Well for a female it's weird when a guy asks. Like just start a conversation based on something you saw me post. A name isn't important
I've never asked but I have volunteered mine in PM and usually the other person gives theirs too but it would feel tacky asking TBH. @Motleycrue667
What do you think they will do with your name?
Did he use the same pictures as on the dating site?
'Cause, quite frankly. Search 'sarah' on facebook, in Seattle. and let me know if you find me.
Motleycrue667 · 46-50, F
That might be more difficult since Seattle is larger than the little town I live in.
@Motleycrue667 When I lived in a small town I was more guarded on what i would share. But not with my first name. Besides being very common, if they don't know what town you live in, its a bit easier to not worry.
Also, if i don't trust them I just lie and tell them my name is Lilly. Its not as though it matters in the end, they rarely stick around long enough to learn it to be anything but what I told them.
TheProphet · M
No. Why would it be? I always introduce myself here just like I would if I met you in person. Hello. I'm David from Illinois. Polite people would answer.
TheProphet · M
@Motleycrue667 I consider the people I friend here to be real friends. I've traveled to meet some of them and talked to others by phone.
Motleycrue667 · 46-50, F
@TheProphet well for a single woman it's not safe. If I met someone on here that started out actually talking and starting an interesting conversation then a few messages later they asked my name that's fine. I've been on this site and dating sites enough to know it's suspicious when a guy randomly messages you and all they want to know is your name and nothing else. It's weird
TheProphet · M
@Motleycrue667 I can see your point. I often PM people, mostly women, to chat. I always introduce myself just as I would in real life.
SW-User
Not really... if it's just my first name, I don't think they can do much about it.
Rutterman · 46-50, M
Not if they also give their name.
SW-User
Some people insist on me knowing their name... they don't understand that I can't remember names in real life either.
GBPackersFan · 41-45, M
Not really now if they ask for your social security number then you might have a problem on your hands
MellyMel22 · F
[c=#BF0080]First name, I don't think so.. Last, definitely![/c]
SW-User
Well I guess I'm suspicious
LittleCoco · 46-50, F
You want to be called Motley then?
Fernie · F
That sends me a runnin"! creepy and intrusive
Fernie · F
@NigelDoes I take the post to mean asking right away what my name is...without getting to know the me at all
NigelDoes · 56-60, M
Oh I see what you mean. That's understandable.
Fernie · F
@NigelDoes she might not mean that at all Nigel🙄
Jackaloftheazuresand · 26-30, M
Right from the Kick Start?
SW-User
Yes that's why you don't say it
SW-User
Um, even some friends of mine that I've known for almost a year don't know my name....
Sicarium · 46-50, M
A bit. That's just how some people are though.
SW-User
Tell them it's Lilith!😈
SweetMae · 70-79, F
I believe so!!
