It would be really helpful if you separated groups and questions again so you could find the content relevant to your interests. It’s really difficult weeding through all the nonsense to find anything of substance. I miss seeing stories and posts in the groups that are of interest to me. All I see are random questions that often have nothing to do with the group topic.
I don't want all the clutter in my feed! I want to be able to just see posts in the groups I follow, not all the questions. I like that I can set my feed to just my friends, but when I want to venture outside my circle, I want to be able to do so in a streamlined way - just my interests, just the posts (not the questions). :)
@Nuno It's not just the groups we follow, though. I see questions in it as well as friends' comments on posts that have nothing to do with the groups I follow...
@ChampagneOnIce Thank you for your suggestions. We could work on those. However, from our experience, when we had Stories and Questions, many people were using Questions to post stories, and many "Stories" were quick random sentences that weren't stories at all (and sometimes were questions anyway).
What exactly can be considered a question? Any post that contains a question mark? Stories can also have question marks (dialogues, etc)
As for age groups, we already have filters in place for Messages and for 100% blocking contact with specific age groups. The problem is that when someone really wants to "cause trouble", they will lie in their age just to easily bypass that filter. We can consider (and likely implement at some point) age group filtering, and possibly country, but I'm not very sure how beneficial (or how well it would work) at this point.
@Nuno Thank you for reading, considering, and responding to my feedback. I appreciate it.
True. People could lie (and some do) about their age, but in general, most of the content I see that doesn't interest me are from certain age groups. Not all, of course, and I realize there's the potential to miss out on content when you use filters unless you follow a specific user, but it would certainly help clear some of the clutter out of the groups feed.
Regarding questions and stories, on EP there were different sections for them. (There was also a confessions section someone reminded me about yesterday, which was also fun.) Yes, sometimes they crossed over, but in general, stories were in groups, and questions were based on topics like the ones you put in this post. If there was some information about what to post where, and if users helped encourage the difference, it would be so helpful to keep them separated. I would love my groups feed to just include the groups I follow, not all the random topics/questions/friends' comments on posts.
Thank you again for listening and considering member feedback. :)
@Vivaci I had completely forgotten about it until someone reminded me about it yesterday. It was fun to read the posts, and I liked that they were anonymous.
