From my knowledge iran is one of the oldest cities in the world. The captial of the persian empire. The birthplace of the first human rights. One of the few empires strong enough to challenge rome and a major trading hub for the last 1000 years comparable to the kievan rus.
I have quite a few friends from Iran. They are very hospitable people with a beautiful culture. The food they cook is delicious too. I met some of my friends as far back as the early 80’s when I worked as a university. Worked with some as well. They loved to talk about the culture so I would talk about that as an ice breaker. What I wish for Iran is peace, love & freedom and hopefully not far in the future. There is a lot of talent inside and outside of Iran.
@Ilya8191 Everything from Gourmeh Sabzi to Fessenjan to Kebabs. I have made a few dishes at home, bought a nice large cookbook in an international store. I like to make chicken with eggplant & tomatoes and saffron rice. Also barberry chicken and chicken with sour plums and veggies and rice. Fessenjan is good if I make a visit to an international store to buy all the greens.

@justbob No, we are satisfied with the current government; otherwise, it would not have managed to remain in power—especially given the war and all these sanctions. Contrast this with the Islamic Republic of Iran [in the past], where more than 90 percent of the people were dissatisfied, took to the streets, and brought about a change. Now, however, the situation is the opposite: people take to the streets to defend the government. They love Seyyed Ali Khamenei, and I have evidence to support my claim.

This represents only a portion of the crowd that day. (However, the news media does not mention this, as they do not wish to show the unity of the Iranian people.)

I understand there is law but sometimes the law is looked over. In this case a 9 yr old girl can be Interrogated as an adult and suffer the same punishment. 9 yr old, 12 yr old girls can be punched in her stomach and beaten with a baton in certain places. Am I correct in this thinking. Not saying anything bad becouse this is the law in Iran
@Semen No, that has never been the case; I have never seen anything like that. I’m not sure how to put it, but in my view, half of the news coming from outside Iran is false. In Iran, girls are actually held in much higher regard. And well, usually, the news is curated or directed. May I ask where you heard this, or could you provide more specific details about what exactly happened? I don’t want to be untruthful, but as far as I am aware, I have neither heard of nor witnessed any such incident where a nine-year-old girl was subjected to beatings.
