How are new Groups created here?

Noticeably absent are Groups that may be of interest to older members, whether active older members, passive older members, older people with health issues or annoying children, or … any of 1,000 plus areas of interest that may be of special interest to people over 60, or over 70, or …over 100.

Under your profile pic, there’s a drop-down menu. Go to “My Forums.” Then click on whatever joined forum you want to add a group to. You should see “Create New Group” on the sidebar.
@OlderSometimesWiser Thanks a million!! Hope to see you on the other side :)

I don't have a "Create New Group" shown anywhere on my sidebar. Maybe that's a secret message to me from management! 🤭
@SW-User You have to first click on one of the forums, then it will expose a create new group button.

I did that, but no button is exposed. Well actually, that's not totally true. Here's a screenshot of the only button I can see, but which is only partially exposed...

@SW-User It may be different for different browsers. once i clicked on the "My Forums" it showed my forums. Then when I clicked on one of my forums it displayed a right panel that gave m the option to create a group. I imagine a group isn't the same as a forum, but probably more like a sub group of the forum that you clicked on. So unsure what type of public exposure the group I created would have.
@SW-User also ... once I clicked on my sunflower, and selected "my forums" from the dropdown, it then showed my my forums in column of 2s, I clicked on a forum, for example "country music", and THEN it displayed the posts of that forum, AND a right panel with a button to add a post to that forum and another button to create a new group.

Oh yes, I see it now. Nothing was mentioned about first selecting a group from a forum to get the 'new group' button to come into view.

Thanks for showing me too where my 'group button' is! 🤭

Is your 'group button' an innie or an outie?

@SW-User
My group button is an outie!
@swirlie @SW-User

A takeaway from this is that to best locate your group be sure to first click on a forum that somehow relates to the subject of your group. Like if you want a discussion on belly buttons, burying it in a forum about country music may not be the ideal place.

But all the photos that someone took of me wearing cut-off denim shorts, a tank top and a cowboy hat were taken in a country music bar! What do I do now?

Good tip! Who's your favorite country music artist?

You do the same as I did! Use one of them as your username photo! 🤣
@SW-User Favorite? That probably changes from day to day, and I sort of shuffle the deck with country, folk, and gospel; but for the moment I’m in love with the Brothers of the Heart. Jimmy Fortune, Bradley Walker, Ben Issacs, Mike Rogers and a few more. They come across as having fun while being tight.

What about country music artist Shania Twain?

@SW-User
I met Shania Twain on a flight from Zurich to Toronto when she still lived in Switzerland. I was over there skiing. Shania Twain holds the record for the highest number of records sold in the world by a female country artist in country music history.
@swirlie this reminds me of when I met Tex Ritter. Checking out of a motel near LaGuardia, a familiar face and a big belt buckle that said "Tex". Peeked over his shoulder and sure enough, Tex Ritter himself.

He was checking out and trying to get driving directions. The desk clerk was clueless and I was able to help, so a 5 minute conversation over a cup of coffee with Tex himself

When was that?
@SW-User

Shania Twain

Love her. Liked her duet with Willie
