How are new Groups created here?

Noticeably absent are Groups that may be of interest to older members, whether active older members, passive older members, older people with health issues or annoying children, or … any of 1,000 plus areas of interest that may be of special interest to people over 60, or over 70, or …over 100.

@swirlie this reminds me of when I met Tex Ritter. Checking out of a motel near LaGuardia, a familiar face and a big belt buckle that said "Tex". Peeked over his shoulder and sure enough, Tex Ritter himself.

He was checking out and trying to get driving directions. The desk clerk was clueless and I was able to help, so a 5 minute conversation over a cup of coffee with Tex himself

Wow ... A lifetime ago. LAte 1970s. One of those things remembered, like meeting a president or a king or queen. Everyone over the age of 50 can probably hum his high noon song, or Streets of Laredo, or ...
@swirlie Wow… probably. I lived in NYC for a bit of 1969-1970, then left but flew in and out frequently until the early 1980s. So likely in the 1972-74 span. Having lived there I knew the major highway layout well enough to tell him how to get from there to there.

Have you ever heard of Hank Snow?
@swirlie Yes. I also lived near Nashville (Smyrna, the old Sewart AFB, now a Nissan plant I believe) for the better part of a year (mid 1960s), and my spouse later lived there while attending a year long program at Vandy. So went to the Grand Old Opera with the wooden benches a few times.
