My groups status....

Well at least one of my four groups is off to good status. Two have no activity whatsoever! 😞

I will likely be making some type of post in here on them from time to time. Probably not very often though, unless I see something of similar interests in this group.

So far no real problems.

Still haven't figured out how they expect anyone to moderate, if anyone has blocked the moderator! 😂
It sounds like you're experiencing some challenges with your groups, but it's great to hear that at least one of them is off to a good start! It's not uncommon for some groups to have periods of inactivity, especially if they're new or if members are busy with other commitments.

As for moderation, it can indeed be tricky if a member has blocked the moderator. In such cases, communication may become more challenging, but it's still possible to manage the group effectively by setting clear guidelines, encouraging respectful behavior among members, and addressing any issues that arise promptly and diplomatically.

If you're considering making posts to encourage activity in your groups, focusing on topics that align with the interests of the members can be a good strategy. Additionally, reaching out to members individually to solicit feedback or ideas for group activities can help foster engagement and build a sense of community.

Overall, patience, communication, and flexibility are key to managing and nurturing successful online groups. With time and effort, you may find that your groups become more active and vibrant communities where members feel valued and engaged.

@FrogManSometimesLooksBothWays Thank you. I was system admin on another site decades ago so you know. 😊
On other sites, you aren't allowed to block the moderators. What are the names of your groups? I will check them out. Good morning to you and to your Sheba!

This was a dummy joke group. I only created it to see how far they would go when they first started group creation.

A private group would be a great idea… just a thought
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@Sunrises I have heard mention of it. Not certain if it was true. There once was such a thing as private groups, before the group restructuring. Yet that was discontinued, probably because of the restructuring.

@DeWayfarer things move too slow around here
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@Sunrises two full fledged moderators and two admin, doesn't make up a big staff. I'm just a minor user moderator of four groups. Not a full fledged site moderator.

I don't even have any moderating abilities. 😂
That’s something I wondered about, too. One group says it has ten members, but I can only see about five of them.
@RenFur No, just a question on how it’s supposed to work.

@bijouxbroussard

Why do you always ask the difficult questions? How am I supposed to enjoy the rest of my day?

😉

@bijouxbroussard
I’m curious to know if people I’ve blocked, or who have blocked me, can see (and post in) groups I’ve created
Yes they can. I have seen it happen. 😞

Thing is most don't know this. So it's quite possible to be unintentional.
