The Sun gives us heat and light and the moon produces cold and darkness. Can evolution explain how we got this lucky?

Life without these two planets (the Sun and the Moon) would be very difficult indeed, the Earth would be neither cold not hot, light or dark. Instead of just floating around in the solar cistern...or 'the milky way' we have been gifted with these planets witch give us perfect living conditions. This is known in science as the 'Three Bears Effect'. Could we really have been this lucky?

Extraordinary odds, indeed.
However, the moon is a satellite, definitely not a planet.
