What do you do with an Aldi's cart that was given to you without paying?

If you're given a cart at Aldi rather than using your own quarter, when you're done shopping do you hand off your cart to the next person or keep the quarter for yourself, while getting a quarter from the cart next to you? There was some weird grump at Aldi earlier who got all defensive about, getting his money back when it wasn't even his to begin with.

Don't even know what you mean by this.

You have to pay for a cart? 🤷🏻‍♂️

Why? 🤣
@DeWayfarer I think it’s just the make sure that they put it back. Which should be a normal thing to do for humans but unfortunately it’s not the case.

@BloviatingBuffoon I recall this happening a few decades ago here. People simply refused and it was quickly dropped. They simply went to another store.
@DeWayfarer so they never use carts? I just hope every carts are in place coz I hate it when ppl just leave their carts in the car park. It’s just a sign of laziness and uncivilized for me.

@BloviatingBuffoon I definitely didn't know what you meant by carts then...🤣

Picture putting one of those huge rolling metal (or plastic now) cages in your car... 🤣

You can't leave the store with a "hand cart" here. They have a sensor that triggers an alarm at the door.

They charge for plastic bags though. Some places the paper bags are still free.
@DeWayfarer yeah it’s the big ones , caddie (French) , chariot , or trolley. Sometimes ppl get to leave them in the parking lots instead of putting it properly to their station.

Yeah plastic bags are also paid here now. I often use my own shopping bags.
