@Gusman Here in India we get around 3-4 % on normal savings. If you save a fixed amount for a fixed period you can get around 6-7 %

The best 2 year term deposit is 4.45%
Our banks are profit hungry crooks.

@Gusman All banks are like that. I guess it is tightly bound with overall economics of the region. Looks like we are headed towards another recession...

USA : The national average interest rate for savings accounts is 0.16 percent, according to Bankrate's Oct. 12 weekly survey of institutions. Many online banks have savings rates higher than the national average. ( I have one at 2% and one at 1.46%)
