I’ve dislocated my leg but not broken a bone yet
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
Just once during a motorcycle accident. Two pins just barely above my left knee. Worst six-month experience in my whole life. Leg atrophied and the casted pushing down on those two pins. No one thought to send me back to the doctor to even look. And when that six months was over and that caste was all bloody then my half brother had a doctor look. 😖
I was just too drugged up on demerol.

@Unlearn according to the doctor back then better than new. Even more flexible than my right leg which won't let me get into a full lotus position.

@DeWayfarer Do you still have the pins in?
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@Sutten no, those had to come out. They where sticking out of my leg and why the caste pushed down on them.

@Unlearn Was weeding near a retaining wall with my back to it. Had done the same in the same place most days for 19 years - took it for granted, forgot to be mindful of my position in space.
Stood up, took a step backwards and, whoosh, foot missed the wall.
Tipped over backwards, two meter fall into concrete drain.
One of the ribs punctured a lung.
Couldn't move for a few minutes.
Couldn't scream - no voice.
Husband in house 50 metres away.
Eventually managed to get to feet, bent over, and walked back to house.
Hardest 50 metres of my life.

@Unlearn Thank you. :)
It was a long hard road - the healing - 7 months physio - but I'm much better now - back to normal and back into regular work and lifestyle.
It turned out I had osteopenia - the stage just before osteoporosis.
I get 6-monthly injections now, take daily calcium and Vit D, get 15 mins of sunbaking whenever it's fine, and am working on increasing fitness, suppleness and strength.
Despite the tough process, it was better that I discovered the osteopenia when I did. These days it's completely reversible.
It could have been far worse.

@SW-User haha...I broke my leg because I had too much to drink and we freaking won the world cup that night...

@Unlearn Then it was worth it! Congrats!

2 tibia and fibula and my nose cartilage
Unlearn · 41-45, M
@DeluxedEdition which was most painful?
DeluxedEdition · 26-30, F
@Unlearn that’s a little tough to answer because the cartridge hurt while it was being broken because I was being assaulted and still hurts to this day, daily
And when I broke my tibia and fibula I was struck by a car and didn’t feel it until afterwards so that one hurt more AFTER. and also still hurts to this day when it rains or gets cold

Closest thing would be when I twisted my ankle at age 13.
Unlearn · 41-45, M
@latinbutterfly I have twisted them so many times as well...
