Thought it had ended
CheekyBadger · M
@hiddenpearl I don't think it will end, but instead will just become a mild inconvenience.
Redstar · 36-40, M
@hiddenpearl What made you think that?
It's not going to end, at least not in the foreseeable future. More boosters, everyone must get the jab, even children who's immune system hasn't fully developed yet and therefore should not be messed with... but it's happening anyway.

@Redstar i mean noone wears masks anymore thought it was over

@hiddenpearl it's not like the masks made much of a difference. Even the lock downs didn't do much if anything. A total lockdown would have some effect but we're not set up to be able to do that. None of these measures were based on actual science (i.e. experiementation and reproduction) but instead on opinion and pressure from certain areas. When the data is examined it doesn't show effectiveness at all.

@hiddenpearl Masks were introduced as a way to allegedly protect against the virus during the worst times, when it's apparently running rampant through an area. Remember masks weren't immediately introduced, when the virus first came out they were just telling everyone about social distancing, which they seem to leave out now...
There are still people wearing masks in places, I don't know how many but in my city there are.

@Redstar well everyone is social and at concerts and markets without masks

@hiddenpearl Exactly. The masks never really did what they told us they did.

@Redstar They made all sorts of pronouncements about the virus that were untrue. One of the first was that it was spread by fomite which means by touch - odd for a respiratory virus. Most respiratory viruses spread through the air - being breathed out of the respiratory system. I'm not saying that it cant' be spreadh by touch - of course it can but the majority of transmission is through aerosol which are incredibly tiny particles that are not stopped by a fabric face covering. There is a reason why people working with viruses use (or should use) systems that prevent them breathing in these particles and not fabric face coverings. The reason surgeons/dentists use masks is to stop them dripping saliva onto/into patients - not to stop them spreading or picking up disease. There was a trial done where some surgeons didn't wear masks for a set of operations and turned out not to make a difference anyway although I daresay they didn't spit in patients wounds. 🤣
