You ever hear people say "you should always treat everyone nice, the janitor, the waiter, etc" but indirectly isnt that a bit insulting?

But isnt it indirectly condescending?

It is implying people that have those jobs are inferior. I agree with you.

No its neither insulting nor condescending. It is only saying not to be classist and treat every person like a human. Everyone is doing something that is needed to co-exist and function.

@MntoNc why not? People are aware of how classists people can be.
No, the speaker is pointing out that persons in service jobs are as worthy of respect as judges, doctors, etc., and thus, of good treatment, of the common courtesies which one should extend to any person.
