How do I remove myself from a group?

i am now a member of a number of groups that I don't want to be associated with.
thanks for the suggestion I mute those groups, but it still shows me as an [i]interested member.[/i]
i have not seen any button, or option
i did not join these consolidated groups, and miss the now vanished content
Am I missing something?

@Dshhh another way is to go to your own groups on your profile and unchecked each group you are uninterested in.

I mention this way because you might not have the notifications if you actually have a lot of groups. The notifications have been going on for three days now and notifications are only listed for two days.

@Amylynne true, yet those on your group list are the ones you are subscribed to. Not the notifications.

What's happening is groups are being moved into new subgroups. And your groups in your group list are being moved into the same groups you are not subscribed to. It's that new group association that is creating the messages.

New group A is created. You are subscribed to. B.1

You don't want anything to do with group C.2 yet both are being moved to A group

So both B1 and C2 are notified they are being moved to A group so your group is now A.1 And your hated group is now called A.2.

All in the A group are notified though.

Might as well hate the alphabet or even math.
