Has anyone before being Gaslightened and for what reason behind it

@SW-User They get angry when they try to manipulate and don’t get their way. My sister did that. She gaslit me because I wouldn’t take her to the casino to gamble.

@riseofthemachine They think they are vulnerable. I go ahead and listen but I don’t buy their crap. And then I stay the hell away from them after they do it.

@SW-User I was taking her places and helping her for over a year and a half but I put my foot down at taking her to the casino. I knew she would have lost her money in short time, given me a hard luck story and try to get me to cover her losses. I absolutely refuse to get involved in that sort of thing. She tried to tell me her son suggested she go play Texas Hold Em at that casino because he was making money there winning at it. I told her if it was his idea he could take her and it pissed her off.

@SW-User she had to start walking and taking the city bus to go anywhere. Sometimes she gets a ride, she didn’t know how well she had it till she did that.

@cherokeepatti Sometimes people need a rude awakening like that. It won't help a narcissist though! They'll find someone to blame for it!

@SW-User there’s no telling what she told her adult children. I haven’t spoken to any one of them and had one on my FB page. They never communicate with me so she must have really told some garbage on me.

@cherokeepatti before i thought know was aick mentally until it started happening to me and by god i wasn't expecting it one bit .
I had a visit to a pysche ward of it , it was that bad but the last time i came out of there i swore id never go in there again .
So people that try and gaslight me these days given me advice i usually do the opposite and its after working 100% .

@riseofthemachine yeah they’ll try to give you advice that will do something to favor themselves. My sister had a scheme hatched up about 45 years ago that she was going to buy a house from a govt auction and have me rent it till they paid it off and then sell it at a profit. She came to my house and told me her husband was going to bid on it. And then she told me I would live in it and the rent wouldn’t be cheap. I didn’t say anything but when I moved and leased an apartment and signed a one-year lease she got the damn message I wasn’t playing her game.

@cherokeepatti i listen to a person and he describes that you have to get detached with everyone with love even close ones .
When i heard it at the start it was frightening but pain had me no choice but to do it .

@riseofthemachine yes detachment will help you think very logically. They sure know how to push buttons and until you detach they have power.
