What consequences have you had to suffer and what for?

Going back to an abusive relationship hoping it would change

@DeluxedEdition Why do we do that to ourselves?

Sometimes we have to look at the bigger picture. Like climb completely outside of the box and observe it as an observer

I feel like it’s different with everyone but often times it’s a form of love we are familiar with and we attribute that form of love to normalcy. Perhaps that’s what we observed growing up or that was the form of love that we received

Often times we attribute this newfound situation to one of our past traumas. And by becoming obsessed with making your abuser love or accept you it’s a coping mechanism for closure for the past trauma

This is quite eye opening. Never would've seen it as a coping mech. Very interesting take.

I've had to suffer a lot of abusive people due to being new here. Blocking them helps.

went through a divorce, met someone who was helping me get through. that turned into a relationship I regret. befriend someone on here who supposedly was helping me get over that relationship, in turn, turned into another "relationship" that I now regret. batting 0 for 3. maybe I'm just that much of a piece of shit. oh well. my daughter still loves me 😁

I’d lost people I loved (as in they left) because what I thought was “being protective” was actually being controlling. I get that nowadays, but the consequences remain. They’re out of my life.
