Are designer clothes ever worth it? Ive seen 700 usd sneakers that come with stains on them for "added style" like whats the point?

They look exactly the same as my cheap o sneakers that I havent cleaned in a while.
I like fashion and all that bu I don't think i'd ever pay that much for something that doesnt even have anything special on it, even if I had the means, like what are rich people thinking when they blow so much money away on ugly clothes? who would wear these?

I once went into a store where jeans were being sold for $300+. They were paper thin and had no real designs. I was very confused.

@pattycakechamp Those shredded jeans with designer labels going for over $100 a pair. I remember in the 70’s when fringed cut-off shorts came into style and sorority girls would pay big money for those shorts. Like someone said they had the same brand of jeans that were on clearance for $5 in the campus clothing stores (they had slim legs v. The flared leg jean that were then in style) and a person could carefully cut them off and hand-fringe them and save at least $20 a pair that way.

Not really. They break like other clothes most of the time and we grow out of them.

There's no point, it's a status symbol.

designer clothes are usually not worth it

Mostly for status although some brands are very well made and more durable. I also think its a way for the wealthy to feel like they are slumming without actually endangering themselves with slumming, if that makes sense.
