Domestic violence against men (perpetrated by women) was taken more seriously. It breaks my heart to see stories of men trying to get justice after being abused by their significant other and being ignored or blamed.

@Killers: Toxic masculinity is perpetuated by both men and women. Just because it has the word "masculinity" in it doesn't mean it's the sole responsibility of men.
@AmbivalentFriability: Although this is probably not what you're expressing, I feel like people perpetuate the idea that simply masculinity itself is toxic. Masculinity itself isn't a bad thing, it's the association of masculinity with being able to withstand abuse and violence in general that's the problem. Laws have, for a long time, favored women in cases of rape, domestic violence, etc. because of this unfair association.
