What to do

My dream career is to become an animator but my mom keeps telling its a worthless job. But wants me to be a painter. Which to me is the same thing(apparently you don't make money). I just wish she could understand how much it means to me. Should I talk to her or ignore her and keep doing me?

You can animate AND paint. Like... animation is a career in a way painting is not unless you're incredibly fortunate. Go to school for animation and keep painting in your spare time. If you get lucky, you get lucky.

Yeah, I know. My mom prefers I paint and portrait but shows me an article of "worthless" jobs it just confuses me

She may be confused as well. Animation is a huge industry and growing constantly, and allows you to be artistic as well.
