What to do

My dream career is to become an animator but my mom keeps telling its a worthless job. But wants me to be a painter. Which to me is the same thing(apparently you don't make money). I just wish she could understand how much it means to me. Should I talk to her or ignore her and keep doing me?

Thanks. I plan on talking to her tomorrow or when we are alone. I am nervous though she's hard to talk to.
