To see this volunteer project I presumably "leading" come to fruition and have the infrastructure in place to continue forward. I've certainly been doing my part, accomplishing my assigned tasks and a few of others' as well. Leading is a heck of a lot harder with all volunteers than it is when the boss of employees.
