Thoughts Regarding 'White Privilge'

It's a load of crap. [I never was one to beat around the bush.]

It's yet another trick the left is playing on minorities. Look, even if you they could convince white people of this new myth, does that improve the station of minorities?

We ALL have the privilege of life. What we do with it is all about the individual. You can choose to apply yourself in school, you can choose to take part in extra curricular activities, you can choose to listen to your parents, follow the rules of the house, find a job that interests you, be the best the employer has ever had, get promoted, marry and THEN have children, work hard to keep the family intact and succeed.

THOSE things result in happiness and success. Don't do those things and life will be more difficult for you - what ever your skin color might be.

I might as well bring up that the left has had major involvement in tripping up the steps to success for minorities - for decades.

Minority families are far more likely to be fatherless for example. I know marriage itself is considered more disposable than ever, but those that get caught in the web of government assistance are forced to get rid of Dad and nothing short of a miracle ever gets them out from under the governments rules that won't let 'em out.

Taking whites down a notch won't do a thing to improve your own life. It's an old trick played by losers everywhere and it never works. Losers remain losers.

So, succeed the old fashioned way, that has worked time and time again for thousands of years - work hard, play it straight, be honorable and gather your own privilege as you go.

Good luck!

To call it 'white privilege' is the con - but the issues are real. It's about social class inequality and primarily white societies paint it as 'white privilege' to distract from the real issue(s). Just because you might be born with non-dark skin doesn't mean you have to accept and automatically identify as privileged or superior to another social group. In Africa which is a continent having a total population over 1 billion about 10 percent of the population (which is mostly all ethnic groups with dark skin) lives in poverty and/or slavery conditions. Nobody talks about 'black privilege'.

AND, just because you might be born with dark skin doesn't mean you have to accept and automatically identify as put upon or inferior to another social group.

@Budwick True, however the social class inequality is primarily the result of societal conditioning just as much as anything else. White people are intrinsically conditioned to think they are superior/elite/etc. and non-white people generally get entrenched with conditioning as being inferior, and treated as such. This was a huge factor in the Nazi movement around WW2 (which is the genesis of things like KKK, antifa, etc. nowadays), and in the revolt against apartheid in South Africa. But South Africa's issues blinkered the rest of the world to the fact that African nations are primarily dark-skinned peoples and if they oppress one another nobody in the rest of the world cares. The issues of the fake country of Israel vs the rest of the middle eastern region has a lot of class inequality, etc. traits based on religious/secular grounds instead of skin colour, and nobody in the rest of the world cares. China is trying to eradicate 'religious minorities' and because it's not an issue of skin colour nobody in the rest of the world cares.

Also true. So, minorities better get off their asses and start voting out democrats that keep the social inequity in place!

White people are conditioned to think they are superior/elite/etc.
Baloney.
I always assumed it was because Europeans founded the country and constitution so looked out for themselves and forgot to look out for everyone. That is reason they left. They got tired of religious oppression for example and wanted to make their own way. They just forgot to include everyone hence slavery. @zonavar68
BRILLIANT!
@Budwick
zonavar68 · 56-60, M
@Budwick It's no baloney at all - basic intrinsic conditioning of white people born into predominantly white people societies is that they are better than people with a different skin colour and that pervades through all manner of things - politics, religion, education, etc. But you do not have to accept that as 'normal' or identify with it as a way for you to believe individually that you are better than everyone else. That's how Trump thinks.
I feel that white people are more represented in America than other races are. I suppose that would have an effect on some people. @zonavar68
zonavar68 · 56-60, M
@Spoiledbrat The level of representation is a large part of it, which is why in Africa (I keep referring to that as it's a perfect 'opposite') white skinned people are generally the minority and have little or no representation. But because of that nobody talks about it as the mainstream white caucasian focused media conglomerates never report on it because it's not considered 'newsworthy'.
Budwick · 70-79, M
@zonavar68 Yes, it is baloney!
What you expressed was how YOU feel, or how you THINK I feel.
Not me or white people in general.

@zonavar68 You said the same thing about Australia!
And, you also posted this.

BTW - no one oppressing blacks here. They have greater opportunity in America than anywhere else in the world - just like white people.
BigGuy2 · 31-35, M
@zonavar68 ... i agree, not homing in on the real problem, masks the the real remedy
BigGuy2 · 31-35, M
@zonavar68 ... no left wing media reported the issues when Mugabe in Kenya allowed blacks to seize white farms, the same that is happening NOW in Africa, blacks are seizing white farms
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@BigGuy2 Mugabe ruled Zimbabwe you absolute moron. And everyone wrote about it.
BigGuy2 · 31-35, M
@QuixoticSoul ... whoops, doesn’t help having a few discussions at once and then cross fertilising, I think you’ll find that the Left didn’t report on it, because as then as now, the Left ignore anything that goes against their narrative
zonavar68 · 56-60, M
@BigGuy2 Both Left (labour) and right (liberal/republican) are as bad as each other with this, so you can't win in that domain.
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@BigGuy2 It's not anyone's fault that you simply weren't paying attention.

https://www.nytimes.com/1997/11/20/world/zimbabwe-to-seize-white-owned-farms.html

Everybody wrote about it.
BigGuy2 · 31-35, M
@QuixoticSoul ... if I’ve got four discussions going on at once, it’s easy to cross-fertilise
Budwick · 70-79, M
@BigGuy2 Been there!
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@QuixoticSoul Yeah... I think a lot of people were paying attention.

I even bought a couple of banknotes when it became totally ridiculous

How do I get my hands on one of those? @Kwek00
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@jackjjackson They used to be on Ebay. I got via a belgian seller.

Another one I'm still hunting for is the Zaire one from 1992

I found a few a while back, but they didn't take my Debet-Card or PayPall, and I didn't want to get a credit card just for this. I found someone with a credit card the day after, and they were already gone.

You find these notes, just keep looking for them. Some of them are minty fresh since not all of them got into circulation.

I'm also not a bank-note collector. These are just intresting to me because it shows the crazyness of hyperinflation.
Budwick · 70-79, M
@jackjjackson i WENT TO eBAY and found some when I saw that too.
the 100 trillion dote is expensive for a novelty.
I bought 50 billion notes
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@Budwick I have 2 of the 10 trilions, and 2 of the 100 trilions.

I think that's the biggest note they printed (at least that I'm aware of)
Would they be worth framing and hanging somewhere as a conversation piece/ @Kwek00 @Budwick
