Which is more of a real expectation... when you are depressed?

To look for happiness within yourself?

Or to look and hope you can find happiness in finding new situations, places, jobs, friends and relationships?

Came across this "happiness" solution on another post.

Just tossing this out. No arguments please. Poll is done mostly for those that are frequently depressed yet don't wish speak out! True introverts.

I think you have to be happy within yourself. New outlets and surroundings are a temporary fix. They might improve your happiness but I don’t think you should look for things to make you happy. You have to be happy in your own skin and enjoy what you have. Nobody lives a perfect life. There’s no such thing. Life is too short to concentrate on the bad.

@Keepitsimple Now consider someone that truly is depressed. Do you really think they can? 🤔

Depression is a different ball game. Especially when it's extreme.

Just broadening the situation. This site has a lot of depressed individuals.

I know that it is chemical so although I feel bad for people who’s suffer from it I can’t help them. No matter what you say they will still be unhappy. When I was younger I might have consumed myself with that person but not today. Life is so short, I refuse to not see good in life and I hope the best for the people who are depressed but unless they are medicated appropriately nothing changes for them.@DeWayfarer

@Keepitsimple Yet having a new outlet is a way to get out of that extreme depression.

Not saying you should be really active in their situation. Just possibly recommend a way to ease that depression. So they can eventually come to a new light.

I always try. I’m not that heartless 😉. It’s something they have to work out on their own though in the end.@DeWayfarer
