Have you made any New Year's resolutions for this year?

This year, I plan to:

Lose weight and get into better shape.

Keep in better touch with my friends.

Learn to be more assertive and protect my boundaries better.

And finally, most importantly,

This is the year that I'm going to stop letting life happen to me. I'm going to start making things happen. Some of those things might not really seem possible right now, but I'm going to find a way.

I've never made a resolution. They seem silly to me. Why resolve on a certain date to better oneself? One can do that any date. Same with Christmas. Should not "peace on Earth, goodwill toward all" be practiced everyday and not just one?

I hope you succeed but I find the concept of it hypocritical.

@Elandra77 Point well taken. One can make a resolution any day of the year, and one should work on it every day.

@TeresaRudolph71 Starting a new year is an excellent time to take stock and, as is commonly said, make resolutions. Yours are very worthwhile and i hope you achieve success with them.
Excelsior (ever upward)!
There is a Taoist saying: Change threatens the caterpillar but is essential to the butterfly.

@laotzu92 I like that saying. And thank you, I'm going to do the best I can. I don't feel like I've made much progress so far, but I'm going to keep working at it.

@TeresaRudolph71 You might ewant to look at Jordan Peterson's book "12 Rules for Life" which touches on some of the things You are resolving.
