I can't argue this.

I can only add that the 'someone else' stated in the last paragraph usually refers to their own self important ego.

The statement, "keeping only select promises makes you an ass," reflects a common sentiment that selective promise-keeping erodes trust and demonstrates a lack of value for others. When individuals choose which commitments to honor on a whim, it communicates that their word is not dependable and that something else is more important than their commitment to the person or promise.

I have known and loved people like this. I am making it my life's goal to never be trapped by that kind of egotistical...and well for lack of a better word...shitty person, like that, ever again.

Yeah .. that kind of thing, not making time available to sustain a relationship / connection .. red flag. If the interest / effort aren't reciprocated its not worth it. I'm moving toward living that more fully going forward.
